Ghana has a workforce of nine million, but only two million of them receive regular wages. The rest get by with odd jobs. Many are desperately poor. To set up a business requires money, and most banks do not give poor people loans. Microcredits, however, can make the difference. We look at two examples of how such start-up help can bear fruit.
