This is Ramli's Video Journey-Thoughts of Ramli Abu Hassan's series. About this video: This is another species of Bunga Raya found in my village,Brisu,Malacca. Living in your country home is very excellent nowadays especially with the "rat race" in the cities and also the pollution and all the "brick jungle" made available for all city folks. Do you have a country home (kampung) and not those living in the Country Heights (exclusive bangalows for the rich in the vicinity of the city)? Kampung Baru in the heart of KL used to be a traditional Malay kampung just like Sentul,Gombak,Pasar Road,Ulu Kelang,Sg.Way,Puchong and so many others but with almost 50 years have passed by all these kampungs have now become developed and turn into cities and big towns. Is it Good or Bad for living,I think it all depends on YOU and so many other factors.Jobs are made plenty in the cities,so people migrated from their villages to work and live in the cities. Now,after over 50 years of industrial development we are facing this serious "food crisis" and with inflation, pollution,"rat race",social problems, living in the cities are becoming a worry for some! Of course with money (lots of money) you can buy a condominium worth RM3 Mil or more in the heart of KL and live happily and quietly with your wife or mistress (to some). But to many of us,we work day and night for an honest living but still life is a challenge and uphill battle.Maybe, its time to focus back on our kampungs and develop them to become prosperous again with good harvest of padi, vegetables, rubber, oil palm, fish, cattle, durians, mangosteens and so many others. Only the "really interested" or people with passion for country living can "make it" otherwise just go back to your kampung for a good holiday and tell your children about why their kampungs must be "looked after" and remain precious or important to them and their children and their childrens' children.
